Frederick Durnez

The world is my playground. I'm always looking for ways to render my imagination into concrete images. Sometimes I paint, sometimes I draw, sometimes I make photographs. My camera is a tool comparable to a paintbrush or a pencil. The images I make are pages of my diary, each a witness of a specific moment in my life.
Much like my paintings, my photos are mostly inspired by music and personal experiences. This is a selection of recent pictures as well as older work dating back as far as 2008.

Dispite my studies in art I consider myself an autodidact. I'm active in several art academies and take part in various local artistic projects. I participate in exhibitions with my paintings and drawings since 1997. Starting in 2009 I also began exhibiting my photos as well, culminating in 2012 with a double exhibition with Tim Ramaut.

I'm currently working together with Marjolijn Mende, who serves as a companion on my  photographic journey.
